Before joining UF, Casey worked for statewide civil rights groups across the South, including Equality Florida in their effort to defeat the 2008 marriage ban amendment. He also had the opportunity to work on both of President Obama’s Florida campaigns as a field organizer and regional field director.
Casey answers the call to volunteer with “Yes, I’ll do that.” Whether registering new voters at a festival, knocking doors to get out the vote, organizing fundraisers for the local Pride Center or progressive candidates, volunteering for a vaccine clinic, or answering the call to be a poll worker during the pandemic, Casey’s commitment to our community shows in his willingness to lend a hand when asked.
